One of the most frequent ones has to do with the height of the cooker hood in relation to the worktop, so let’s clear them all up.
Distance between the worktop and the cooker hood
The first thing to note is that the height of the cooker hood is not determined by the height of the individual. It is not simply a question of comfort, but there are other more important factors to take into account. One of these is safety. If the hood is set too low, the appliance may be at risk of catching fire. Another factor is efficiency. If the hood is set too high then its effectiveness will be reduced as it will not have enough capacity to extract all the smoke, causing it to be dispersed throughout the kitchen.

Inclined hoods
The distance should be counted from the central point of the filters. For electric hobs, a distance of between 60 and 70 cm from the hob should be kept, and for gas hobs, the recommended height is between 65 and 70 cm. As an important note, under no circumstances should the lower part of the extractor hood be lower than 45 cm.

Pull-out hoods
For electric hobs, a distance of between 60 and 70 cm from the hob should be kept, and for gas hobs, the recommended height is between 65 and 70 cm.
Built-in cooker hoods
If we install an electric hob, we must ensure that the height is 60-70 cm. However, if we have a gas hob, the height should be between 65 and 70 cm. It should be noted that the built-in cooker hood is not suitable if these distances are not met. This is because the distance between the workspace and the wall units is usually reduced and this leads to a risk of the hood and the units catching fire.

Ceiling hoods
Ceiling hoods have a greater range of placement than general cooker hoods, specifically 140-160 cms (regardless of whether it is a gas or electric hood). In some models this distance can be extended to 150-160 cms.
